[Should I] Vintage Omega Speedmaster

I seen this one at a pawnshop. I was wondering if it was at least a ok buy. I wanted this for my self. They said it was good on the time graph. I know it will need a service eventually. It will be watch head only. I declined the bracelet for a cheaper price. It’s has an old omega bracelet that isn’t true to the watch. They said that it wasn’t original. I was wondering how much would a future service cost. How often do I need to service it. They want 3900 out the door. What do you think. I don’t want to be burned on this one. I want to keep it for as long as possible.

I recently got married and wanted to celebrate by getting a nice watch, especially since kids may be coming next and I probably wouldn’t want to buy one then. About two years ago, I went to an AD in New Hampshire and put my name down for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 with the green dial. A year later, I also put my name down at an AD in Albany. Still no call from either. Lately I want to downsize to a 36mm. I feel like the 41 might be a little large for me. I want to add the black dial and silver dial to my options. I recently went to Hawaii, and the AD at the Waikiki store was rude, which honestly made me frustrated with the whole process. It feels like I’m kissing ass just to spend thousands of dollars on a luxury item. While I was there, I also stopped into Cartier and tried on the Santos. I loved it. The associate was super kind, gave great feedback, and even shared some history about the watch. It was a much better experience overall. Now I’m torn on what to do. The ADs in NH and Albany have treated me well, but waiting this long is getting annoying. At the same time, I feel like I’d be compromising a bit if I gave up on the OP. I love the simple, classy look of it, and the bracelet adjustment system is a huge plus for me. That said, I’d happily wear the Santos as an everyday watch, but I know I’d still wonder “what if” about the OP. I’m not willing to pay more than $2k over MSRP for an OP, so grey market is out of the question. I’d probably buy the Santos used to avoid the depreciation hit. I want to be patient with the ADs, but at this point it’s starting to feel ridiculous. What do you guys think?
