I keep seeing swimsuits recommended on Yosemite packing lists, but I've only ever visited in cool weather and it never occurred to me to go into any water.

It's going to be 85 this weekend, and I'm curious if we should bring swim gear, or if the water will still be too swift and cold. We have 2 small kids so it's not "swimming" really, but wading in holding hands.

ETA: Thanks everyone for confirming that it's not swimming season. We may put our feet into Mirror Lake if we make it up there, but no need for swimsuits!

It's the first day birds have come to our new feeder, and this one does not look well. Not sure if she escaped a predator or if she has a skin disease. It doesn't look like photos I've seen of the finch eye disease. I assume it's an injury, because of how the wing looks, but I want to be sure. What is this, and should I take down the feeder?

She seems to be coping well, as she was eating and must have flown to reach that perch.
