TLDR: I went from stock 15:46 tooth to 14:48. Some good and some bad came along with it.
I did a bunch of research on the Scrambler forums and saw that on older scramblers, a common sprocket change was to 14:48. So I figured I would try it out since my chain was due for a change.
The good:
Power feels good throughout the gears
Power at highway speeds even in 6th feels like it’s ready to go
The Bad:
Does not work well with quick shifter. Go up the gears ok, going down, is hit or miss and I usually use the clutch now.
Higher RPM
City riding requires going through more gears
Highway riding takes you into 6th at higher RPMs
Verdict:
Although the torque and power feels better and how the bike should have been. I will probably go back to 15:46 to enjoy riding with the quick shifter and lower RPMs at highway speeds.
