Hi everyone,

I’m trying to figure out how CRS points work for Canadian education. The guideline says that to claim points, you need to have been physically present in Canada for at least 8 months.

Here’s my situation: I’m doing a 1-year Master’s degree (2 semesters + 1 summer semester internship). My classes ran from September 8, 2025, to December 6, 2025, and then from January 19, 2026, to April 6, 2026. I was in Canada during all classes and exams, but in total, it comes to about 7 months and a few days.

For the summer semester internship, I’m doing it back in my home country.

Would my Master’s still be considered for my PGWP application and then as Canadian education for CRS points, or is the full 8 months physically in Canada strictly required? Any insights or personal experiences would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!
