The best use case for AI videos right now

Every time AI video tools get discussed, the conversation is generally about their use in film and long-form content. Will AI kill Hollywood? Can these tools sustain character consistency across a full episode or feature film?

I think the hype around AI video tools like Veo, Kling, and Seedance is producing a misleading picture of where the technology actually stands.

The best use case for these tools right now is in advertising and marketing content. Managing character and location consistency in 30-60 second videos is way more manageable than doing it for a web series episode or a feature film. Anyone who has attempted to make long form content using AI video tools faces the same problems. It requires hundreds of generations and regenerations to get usable shots for 2-3 minute scenes. Credits for these many shot generations are an issue. But I feel the greater issue is the burnout faced after iterating and reiterating thousands of times.

Don’t get me wrong. As the technology is advancing, long form AI videos will become simpler to generate. But right now, I feel that advertising and marketing content is the best application area for AI videos.

Another point to consider is that if you can show that you can make professional AI videos, brands will be willing to pay you for their ad and marketing campaigns. The same cannot be said about long-form content. Considering the timelines and budgets involved, securing paid work for long-form content can be a difficult task.
