Possible revelation??

Hey all - through AI searches the past few days, and some brief review of this sub, my mind has been absolutely blown.

My searching began when I started gaining interest in high end sunglasses (glass Maui Jim and Serengeti). Well, I can tolerate all polycarbonate lenses perfectly fine, and get violently nauseous with glass lenses in these brands, like clockwork. Nobody was able to explain what was happening.

Well, I’m 39 now, but I was in vision therapy as an 11 year old. I remember being told my eyes had a hard time working together. I haven’t thought much about it since. I have lived with anxiety, panic, and derealozarion disorder for decades. I never connected any of these dots. I’ve seen countless doctors and nobody ever brought up my vision.

Well, this brings me back to the sunglasses. AI offered this as a possibility, which makes all the sense in the world: Polycarbonate has more inherent distortion, especially toward the edges, and more chromatic aberration. For some people with BVD, this “softer” or slightly imperfect image might reduce the brain’s demand to perfectly fuse mismatched inputs from each eye, making symptoms more tolerable (a bit like how some prefer less sharp vision if alignment is off).

I am brand new to this realization regarding so many symptoms in my life the past 30 years. I would love and appreciate any and all insights regarding my story and symptoms. What am I dealing with? Possible solutions? Does this explain my supposed mental health struggles? I am beyond overwhelmed but also excited that I may finally have an explanation. Thank you all, and much love ❤️

Hey friends. I’ve been suffering from pretty significant TMJ for about 18 months. It’s been life altering. I have been a daily medical cannabis user for about 12 years. I have basically tried to change every single thing I can think of in my life to help improve my condition, but nothing made much difference. The only thing I hadn’t changed was cannnabis consumption. I have been terrified to, because it’s so critical to my mental and physical well-being. Well, I’m on day 6 of no consumption, and my pain is cut in half. I’m just absolutely crushed by this development. I probably won’t know for certain that cannabis is driving the TMJ for another couple weeks, but this is really depressing me at the moment. Has anybody else experienced this, or have any advice. Thank you friends. Much love to you all ❤️

Hi friends,

I own multiple pairs of MJ in both Maui Pure and Maui Brilliant. No issues. However, I get super nauseas when I wear their superthin glass lenses. I’m so bummed out as the quality is spectacular. I just can’t understand why I tolerate those same tints just fine in every other material they offer. Anyone have this same issue, or have any ideas why I suffer from this? Thanks friends ❤️
