Lessons from scaling an AI subscription business to ~$120k/month in a high-risk niche
I run a subscription SaaS in a high-risk niche currently doing around $120k/month.
Some things that surprised me:
Payment processors are a bigger problem than traffic
Chargebacks matter more than conversion rate
GPU costs are easier to solve than retention
Moderation/compliance becomes a real operational cost
SEO compounds much harder than paid ads in this space
Infra architecture matters once concurrency spikes
I’m not sharing the domain publicly, but I’m happy to answer technical or business questions if people are interested.
Areas I can talk about:
subscriptions & retention
infra scaling
AI pipelines
moderation/compliance
payments/high-risk processing
growth & SEO
operating margins
