Looking for true hero MMC
Hey. I'm looking for book recommendations where the MMC is a really loyal, heroic guy. He can be mistaken for an enemy or bad guy at first but I don't want to read the MMC bullying the FMC or anybody else really. I want their actions to be pretty indisputably good. Two examples that come to mind are {Daindreth's Assassin by Elisabeth Wheatley} and {Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros}.
In Daindreth's Assassin the MMC is a really good guy who has been struggling with a literal inner demon and trying to contain it to keep the people around him safe. The FMC is placed under his power and he never abuses that. He's kind and courteous to everyone he deals with.
Similarly in Fourth Wing I feel like Xaden was never really Violet's enemy. He treated her fairly before they ever got together. She was under his command and he didn't abuse that position of power. All the stuff with him taking responsibility for the other rebel kids and trying to help people struggling to defend themselves makes him a pretty decent dude in my books.
Let me know if anything comes to mind that I should check out.
Edit: Scholomance by Naomi Novik just came to mind as well and totally fits the vibe I'm searching for
