Getting posted to Winnipeg this APS and trying to figure out the housing situation.

I’m single, no dependants/pets, and honestly just trying to live as cheaply as possible. Spoke to base accomodations and was told that single quarters are limited right now and only for course loaded individuals. So I’m trying to get a sense of whether RHUs are even realistic for someone in my situation.

What’s the wait list like? Do single members actually get RHUs in Winnipeg, or should I just be looking at rentals right away? And if rentals are the better move, what areas or options are usually the most affordable for CAF members? Appreciate any insight.
