Yamaha R3 2017 as first bike (and pov from other countries)
Hello everyone! i live in Argentina and recently became interested in riding. I've never rode a motorcycle before, but i already scheduled classes (with a 200cc bike as instructors don't give classes with 300cc bikes with no prior experience) and plan on taking those when i can.
The reason im writing this post is because everyone i know who rides tells me that buying an R3 as my first bike means instant death, even a guy at a dealership told me that its lot for a first bike (after that he offered me an mt-03 which from my understanding is exactly the same motor and has a bit more power in lower gears). But several sources from other countries (this sub, youtube videos and some articles abt motorcycles) say that it's a really good starter bike.
I understand i am part of the demographic most statistically prone to have a fatal accident but am currently doing everything in my power to lower the odds. Full Gear will be worn and am even looking at airbag vest.
I am really confused and dont know what to do. Don't want to buy a smaller bike i dont like to be a pain to sell in a few months. What would you do in my place? Thx everyone in advance.
TL;DR: i want an r3 everyone i ask tells me it is insta death but multiple other sources online say its a great choice.
