What do people say about you while your out shooting?
As a documentary Cinematographer, I pay a lot of attention to the people around me -- observations help me figure out how to tell a story later. When I got my FX6 a few years ago I noticed a major difference in the way people behaved around me. Not only did people love to ogle the camera, I basically could do whatever without interference because I was a "professional."
The only reason I know this is because people talk as if I can't hear them. "Oh wow, there's a real professional here" "oh shit I was gonna photobomb them but they're a journalist" etc.
I'm curious how many other videographers/cinematographers have experienced the same thing and if y'all have any funny stories to share.
