PVC Bed and Water Tank Combo

There was post here recently with a PVC bed platform where I mentioned turning it into a water tank. More interest was expressed, so I thought I'd post up mine.

I built this a few years ago when I had a basic topper on my truck and needed to save space. It's 1.5in PVC with furniture (4 end) and regular hardware store joints (T's and L's). For the first year or so I just used it as a platform as I adjusted sizing for most comfort (height mostly). I also went through a couple of wedge campers during that time and settled on the Vagabond Drifter (which is awesome!) that I full time in now.

After about a year I sealed it up and used it as a water tank as well. I've been using it for over a year now as a water tank and it works great with no issues. Clean water on demand. I went through a couple of pumps (Amazon) and currently have one where the spigot folds down. The tank holds about 5 gallons and capacity can be increased by adding more vertical or horizontal pipes.

I usually remove the pump when traveling (but not always) and close the tank with a screw on cap.

If I was to make some improvements, I would probably add a second drain hose and maybe have one of the vertical pipes be clear (they're expensive) so you can see the water level.
