My 12yo has been on clonidine, sertraline, and methylphenidate in various forms for several years. The current methyl is Jornay which has been great. But they take a lot of clonidine, 2 tabs of the er, 1 of the fast acting everyday. I’ve stopped the fast acting and only use it occasionally when it looks like getting to sleep could be a problem.
I asked the psychiatrist about the er dose given that they have been on that dose for so long. He suggested we could try reducing the dose and see how it goes, so we have.
Anyone other long term clonidine users reduce the dosage ? What did you see?
