Considering we all know our history for this kind of truck, and what scrap prices are, what is a reasonable offer for this? Almost all dealers will junk it for $500 or give me $2,500 trade in on it. I’ve done the camshaft positioning sensors, it throws codes for the vct solenoids and timing chain.

She is not junk, she barely has rust on the normal spots, and is solid and all original. I can change the oil with the ford motorcraft stuff I have for it, but I’d much rather it go to someone who can afford to rebuild it. I’m just at a loss what to do.

Her name is Bessie because she’s the oldest beech I’ve got, and she’s never let me down. The Chrysler van with the 3.6 pentastar that is still in the shop for the transmission is just adding insult to this injury. I just don’t want a dealer to get her when I know the men and women here will love seeing her for her history alone.

So what’s it worth as a second owner with a title in hand? I like to talk, and I hate pics of anything unless it’s a truck or something. Shoot me reasonable ideas to fix her that make sense for something this old and historic. Cause I learned my history young and really love her, but I just don’t have the money for a new motor, much less the timing chain kit and solenoids. She expensive and pretty stone green.
