Our favorite plant sale is coming up in a week and I'm making my list. I like to mix it up every year and seed sites only give so much info, so I'm wondering what your "Oh yeah! Grow that one!!" or "oh god don't grow that!" tomatoes would be from their list.
Sungold is already on the list, that's our every year pick. Crossed out varieties are ones we've already tried. We usually do one bigger tomato (something we can slice for a burger), and 3-5 cherry varieties. Sometimes I throw in one oddball even though taste isn't as well reviewed just for the experience (I'm eying that traveler tomato, maybe).
I prioritize crack resistance, and ideally some disease resistance too. I'm in Chicago, zone 6a, usually hot but not unbearable summers, nice conditions for tomatoes, but so far this year is looking cooler and wetter than average.
