Prep for an OBGYN Appointment

I've had a long road to diagnosis (still not technically diagnosed, because you can't without surgery), but I've had an ultrasound and follow-up MRI that both has found what is very likely endometrioma.

I am waiting on getting an OBGYN appointment and incredibly anxious about it. In 2023, I had three cysts rupture and was sent to an OBGYN who said "it happens! take hormonal birth control".

I have been off of hormonal birth control since the beginning of 2023, with a very brief trial after that doctor told me to be back on it. I do not want to be put on it again. I do not feel like myself on hormonal birth control and I do want kids in the near-ish future (2 years).

I'm worried that they will push for me to take hormonal birth control - I'm wondering if people have had this happen and how you pushed to not be put on it. Also, what other treatments that I could push for instead?

To note, my endometrioma cyst is 8.6cm as of May 5 (actually came down from 9.6cm on March 30).

I'm thinking they'll push for surgery? If not, should I push for surgery?

Appreciate any and all advice/your experiences in the comments.
