I (26M) work as data scientist in a full time W2 federal contractor role making 106K/YR. I have gotten about ~3% increases the past 2 years.
I only have a 4 hour in person meeting once a week that I take transit to ( a little under 2 hours one way), all other days of the week I am remote. I can also flex my time and work 4-10s to get an "extra day off". Since I am a fed contractor, I don't really interact with my direct boss at all so there the exact opposite of micromanaging going on. When I have talked with my boss I learned there is pretty much no advancement/promotion opportunities since it's based on govt contract stipulations where I would need 10+ years of experience in a role. I also work very little throughout the week- maybe a total of 10 hours of actual work a week. Since I am early career should I leave this role to try and increase my income or just enjoy the easier ride and day to day flexibility here?
