I have a single goldfish, water parameters are good but my ph is testing at an 8.0 high range on the API Master Test Kit.

I read that a goldfish can survive at an 8.0, and stable ph is more important than low ph.

So should I be trying to lower the ph anyway?

My tap tests at an 8.0 (we have very hard water btw), and I do have a small piece of drift wood in the tank for decoration. I'd like to add more and some other tannin producing decor to complete the look I'm going for, but I don't want to throw off the whole tank.
