I'm MR95 & AR141, but I only just started playing online with others this week. I did my due diligence and enquired about etiquette, how to avoid tripping/annoying others as a longsword user etc. I've done 30-40 hunts with others atp and never had a single problem until now.

I was playing with shock absorber slotted as usual, and the only other person in the quest had some sort of large sword (I don't think it was a hammer) that had some big power up where they hold it back above their head for what looks like charging (I'm not very familiar with other weapons apart from LS).

The player wasn't laying bombs, but pretty frequently he would do something that blasted me backwards like a small explosion. I tried staying at the tail to just keep out of his way, but we ended up in the same place a lot and it just kept happening.

I'm not complaining about the player, I just want to know what was happening and how/if I can avoid. Never had any issue with other players before and I've seen people use tons of different weapons, but this was a first.

Any advice/feedback is much appreciated. (Apologies if this is an FAQ-I'm new to MHR online play & this sub)

Hey hunters. I'm one of the new players who discovered the game through the PS giving it free. I fell in love with it and purchased Sunbreak. I (think) I've gotten pretty good and I'm currently at master rank 70 & AR 100 (I beat primordial malzeno but haven't unlocked risen dragons yet)

I really want to try hunting with others online, but the more I read about it, I'm afraid I'll just annoy people or won't know some basic etiquette.

I'm exclusively a longsword user. My main concern is what I've read about interrupting other people's attacks with mine. I have a style that is tailored for solo (with npc followers who I can attack through)

I'm not worried about being the one to cart or anything. Just that I'll be an annoying teammate.

I'm also concerned about how long I spend at the start of hunts collecting spiribirds.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. General etiquette. Anything about flinch free or other skills that might negate the friendly fire? Should I just target the tail as the LS user? Is it okaybto take a few mins collecting birds at the start? Etc.

I love the idea of hunting with others but just anxious about being a crap teammate
