I'm attending a destination wedding this summer in the Mediterranean. There is no dress code on the website (yet), but that's not unusual where I'm from. So I 'm trying to work with what I know about the venue.
The venue is a chateau (last picture). The ceremony is at a church at 5pm, afterwards a reception at the courtyard of the chateau. Dinner will be inside. The groom is a young cousin of my husband, we are in our forties. The bride and grooms parents are rather wealthy.
I'd like to know if either of these dresses would be OK as a base (no accessories yet), or if I need to look for another dress.
1: as a winter, I like the color, it's comfortable (summer will be hot), without exposing too much skin. Not sure if it's elevated enough since it's something I would wear on any other summer day. Maybe with accessories...
2: also a sleek and simple style, but the fabric is prone to stains (a drop of water will show as very dark), the gold band is only at the front and not in a straight line.
3: I'm not a fan of showing my legs since they always have bruises, visible veins and are often swollen, especially when it's hot, but I like the color and flowers. Is a T-shirt and skirt elevated enough?
4: same thing about showing legs. Not sure if I like the neckline.
5: I like the emerald green color irl, it's structured and stretchy but it might feel quite hot and my heavy thighs (and belly in side view) are more obvious.
Note: I 'd like to wear flats or a low sturdy heel bc I have wobbly ankles. I'll look into shoes and accessories once I have a dress.
I've been eyeballing a few new dresses but I'd like to check if I can work with one I own first, since we 'll need to buy a new suit for my husband and have other expenses for the wedding.
EDIT: I'm particularly looking for opinions on why a certain dress would work for the venue (appropriateness) and weather, and secondary why a dress looks flattering on me or not. I'm aware there are different tastes in clothing and style 🤗
