Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a speech disorder after waking up after their surgery? My speech is completely impaired from the moment they woke me up. They couldn’t figure out why and made sure I didn’t have a mini stroke via an MRI. This happened 4/13/26. I visited an ENT today who diagnosed me with Spasmodic Dysphonia which is a chronic speech disorder. They are unsure if it was due to stress or the scopolamine patch. I plan to see a neurologist as well. My speech is now somewhat similar to someone with Down syndrome to give a reference.
