I’m pretty new to modding in Cyberpunk 2077 and honestly haven’t really done much yet (tried once and it was kind of a disaster lol).

What I’m trying to do is create a **female NPV (custom NPC)** that I can:

Use for screenshots / virtual photography

Spawn consistently with the same look

Eventually turn into a **companion/ally** (similar to Night City Ally mod)

Right now I’m just trying to understand the *right way to start* without overcomplicating things.

I’ve seen people mention tools like Appearance Menu Mod, WolvenKit, TweakXL, etc., but I’m not sure:

What I actually need to begin with

What’s overkill for just making an NPV

How to avoid breaking my game

**Main questions:**

What’s the easiest way to create a custom NPC I can reuse for photos?

Should I start with AMM first before touching WolvenKit?

How hard is it to eventually turn that NPC into a follower/companion?

Any beginner-friendly guides or workflows you’d recommend?

I’m mainly going for a clean setup where I can build a character and grow into more advanced stuff later.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been getting deeper into Appearance Menu Mod (AMM) and using the **Char Li mod for virtual photography, but I feel like I’m missing a big piece when it comes to lighting, backgrounds, and scene setup.

Right now I can:

Spawn characters via AMM (that’s about it lol)

Use photo mode fairly well

But I’m struggling with making scenes actually look cinematic / professional.

What I need help with:

1. Lighting setups

How are you guys getting that clean, soft lighting or neon glow?

Are you using AMM lights only or combining with other mods?

Any tips for indoor vs outdoor lighting?

2. Backgrounds / environments

How do you create custom-looking backgrounds?

Are people:

Using specific locations?

Spawning walls/rooms?

Using green screen-style setups?

3. Spawning props

I barely understand the props section in AMM

How do you:

Place objects properly (without them clipping or floating)?

Rotate/align them cleanly?

Find good props (cars, furniture, etc.)?

4. Scene building workflow

Do you guys build scenes fully in AMM first, then go into photo mode?

Or do you adjust everything inside photo mode?
