lots of people here are on a roadmap to electrify everything; which is great, of course
heat pumps can have an 'sg ready' capability - read
SG ready explained – gridX
https://www.gridx.ai/knowledge/sg-ready
in summary, you can notify your heat pump that now is a good time to run - typically because you have a solar surplus; the heat pump might decide to use this solar surplus - or, for example, negative grid pricing - to heat your hot water
SG ready is primarily a Germany | Austria | Switzerland (DACH) thing
But I can see no [technical] reason why it can't work here. Both heat pumps and inverters are often designed for the entire European market, so typically have SG ready capability
Curious if...
- anyone has setup 'SG ready' [between their inverter and heat pump]
- their experiences
- hopefully positive!
