Interesting behaviors in my rescue kitten(please help)
Shout is the name of the kitten I found and rescued from inside a car engine. Ive only had her for about 4 days now and id say shes around 5-6 weeks old. Shes an interesting critter to say the least, what more do you expect from a baby cat, but i am concerned about the following issues that have been coming up. The first issue is her social awkwardness. At night and early morning shes fine(its 7am as I write this and shes exploring her new house right now), shes jumpy, playful, purring, etc. But throughout the day her behavior changes into more of a recluse, everything scares her, she scrambles to find places to hide, under beds, between luggage, and she WILL NOT get out of those places if she thinks someone is around. Im not super knowledgeable about how cats think, so if I were to guess id say that this behavior could be attributed to her being a street cat? But im worried it goes further than this, and that this behavior could affect her growing up. The second and probably most serious issue there is, is her peeing ANYWHERE but the litter box. At first I was worried she wouldnt know how to poop, and that id have to potty train her, but she ended up doing just fine, and pooping in the litter box. I started to get concerned when I couldnt find any indication of pee in or near the box. I had assumed the worse, that there could be a blockage or whatnot, but this morning I found a pleasant surprise of pee under my bed. Ive never seen this kind of behavior before, pooping in the litter box, but peeing in hidden places. What does this behavior mean, and how can i fix it?
