Did Korra bending multiple elements as a young child come from Raava learning from past lives?
Just like the question says- I’ve always wondered if Korra bending multiple elements was a decision Raava made after learning from Aang’s time that it might not always best to keep that hidden from the Avatar until they are 16.
I don’t know if this is discussed in any other material (books, comics, etc.) since I haven’t read much of them, but it always made sense to me that as the avatar spirit, Raava would learn from time with past avatars and apply those lessons to the next one. Given the damage Sozin/Azulon/Ozai were able to do while Aang was frozen for 100 years (and scared of being the Avatar and running away) maybe Raava thought that knowing they are the Avatar from a younger age would be better, instead of shocking the avatar with the knowledge as a teenager? Keeping the avatar’s identity a secret except to their immediate authorities or guardians may be a decisions the humans made, instead of Raava, but Raava could change their mind and reveal that knowledge early from within. Plus it gives more time to train the elements and gain wisdom.
