All of a sudden, about 50% of the posts on Nextdoor (south SJ area) these days, are just people recommending restaurants. What happened? What's in it for Nextdoor? What's in it for the people who write these recommendations?

Has Nextdoor figured out some way to extract a profit from recommendations?

Have restaurants suddenly begun "encouraging" (paying) people to write these?
