I was wondering if having all music set to free download without the option to pay what you want is not helping my page get any views. I guess it would make sense for Bandcamp not to do anything for pages that don't make money at all through music or merch but was wondering if there is any information on this from other user experience.
I don't do it for people to have to pay for my music but would like if people found it on their own but I get no traffic at all.
When I first signed up I had my music on 'pay what you want' and made a sale for something I didn't spend a lot of time on or promote on social media.
Now I post clips of music online daily with links to Bandcamp sometimes but that does not do anything for the lack of interaction on my page. I'm sure there could be many reasons for that: quality of work, so much music out there etc. I just wonder if having no cost attached makes my music less visible on there compared to having a cost attached. I have read comments that work with no value attached has no value for some.
I try tagging genres, adding descriptions where possible, social links, etc. but there is no signs of my work being clicked on never mind listened to.
