My girlfriend has never had a pc setup ever and until the days she moves into my apartment, I set up a little SteamDeck battlestation with my Deck and everything I had over from my old setups. This is just a provisional setup and all parts are leftovers, just to play some indie games and Minecraft. What you think?
I used an old 1440p curved gaming monitor from PEAQ (German MediaMarkt own brand) and a dongle for docking with multiple usb / usb c, lan, audiojack, with hdmi and display port. Some old usb mice and keyboard (no name) and you have a little pc setup to play some indie games.
My girlfriend likes to play sims 2 legacy and Minecraft and the deck handle the games really well. It runs with smooth 60fps+ (sims 2 Standart, and Minecraft vanilla, without mods yet)
But yeah, their are quiet old. I tested it with monster hunter rise and this game runs with 720p native resolution. This can be changed in the deck settings but this isn’t a game she wants to play so …
I think, maybe it could run some newer games, but for the days she gets her own gaming pc, this is a good and sweet solution.
