Need advice on my Calathea Pinstripe recovery

Need advice on my Calathea Pinstripe recovery— possible new growth or is it done? This is/was a Bloomscape Calathea Pinstripe (Calathea ornata). I’ve had it about 2 years. Earlier this year one leaf started browning badly and eventually dying off(Clipped it March 27 photo). Around early March I trimmed the brown leaf and decided to repot the plant because the roots were getting fairly lengthy. It wasn’t severely root bound, but I did lightly trim back some roots during the repot. After that the plant gradually declined pretty hard. The remaining leaves eventually died off and now I’m basically left with the crown/stalk area only. I attached:

  • an older photo from when the plant was healthy. Leaf March 27. April 12th or so and then today...May 11. At this point I’m trying very hard not to over water it. I’ve mostly been doing light perimeter watering only when the soil feels dry deeper down because I know stressed Calatheas can rot easily. The center crown still seems firm and not mushy or black. A couple things I’m trying to figure out:
  • Does this still look potentially salvageable?
  • Does the center crown/stalk area look alive?
  • Is there any sign of new growth starting or is it just old tissue splitting/drying?
  • Should I leave the remaining stalks alone or trim anything further?
  • Am I being too cautious with watering? For the photos:
  • it’s only in direct sun briefly while I take the pictures
  • otherwise it stays in bright indirect light Would appreciate advice from people experienced with Calatheas because I know they can be dramatic and sensitive after repotting/root disturbance.
