▲ 1 r/MSCS
I was accepted to both TAMU MCS and Wash U MSCS and am having a little trouble deciding between the two.
My current goal is mainly to get a job after the master’s but a part of me is also thinking about considering a PhD, so I also don’t want to completely close that door if I become more interested in research later. I also want to add that while costs do matter somewhat its not as significant of a factor for me when it comes to deciding admissions.
So I’m wondering:
- How much would TAMU MCS hurt me if I later decide to apply for PhD programs?
- I also heard you could switch from MCS to MSCS at TAMU. Does anyone know how feasible it is to switch from TAMU MCS to MSCS after enrolling?
- Would WashU MSCS be worth choosing over TAMU MCS mainly because it is an MSCS program? I think Wash U is overall considered more prestegious so I'm not sure if TAMU is supposed to be that much better.
- Overall, which would you choose if the main goal is industry, but PhD is still a possible option?
