Finished Inherent Vice last week, loved it probably moreso than CoL49, currently reading Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer but once I finish these next few books I was trying to decide between either Vineland or V as my 3rd Pynchon read.

On one hand I’ve heard Vineland is more accessible than V as well as being part of his “California Trilogy”, so it would be natural to choose that.

But at the same time I wanted to challenge myself with something a but different before I attempt Gravity’s Rainbow later this year. What do you lovely people think?

I think my favorite part of Inherent Vice was both the descriptions of food/meals and the dreamy lounge vibes of 1970 Socal . But plot -wise seeing the payoff of the wager between Doc and Fabian was super gratifying tbh, like I did an IRL fist pump when it happened

Returning to CC after a long hiatus, was originally a directionless history major who dropped out with a 2.5 gpa. Came back this quarter and just doing easy GE classes for rn to acclimate myself, I switched to Business Administration for my major and think I will concentrate in either finance or supply chain management.

In truth outside of history I've felt that water conservation is more my passion but I'm not good enough at math for environmental/civil engineering I feel so I think business is a solid, versatile major that isn't extremely math heavy. Is that a prudent idea or is finance/econ stronger?
