Hi guys! For years I’ve wanted to finish a marathon under 4 hours and after years of trying I finally managed it at the Wollongong Marathon in Australia two weeks ago. However, my Garmin (the Forerunner 255) has my distance as only 41.01km and not the official marathon distance of 42.195km.
While I’m beyond stoked, I wanted to know if this sort of thing has happened to anyone before and what might have caused the distance discrepancy? Does this ever happen with my specific model Garmin for instance? I went on Strava and other competitors who used Garmins in the same race had distances of over 42.195km.
At the end of the day, my time was 3:57:27 so I’ll just tell myself I could’ve staggered another 185m within 2 mins or so ;)
