Got beat by Hamburg today. They remain 7th in the Bundesliga (which gets you into the Conference League next season) but Frankfurt (8th) and Augsburg (9th) are only a point behind them.

Next Saturday is the final day of the season in Germany.

Freiburg are at home to Leipzig (3rd) who have nothing to play for as they cannot finish any higher or lower.
Frankfurt at home to Stuttgart (4th). Stuttgart are looking over their shoulders at Hoffenheim in order to secure a UCL place (sounds familiar)
Augsburg away to Union Berlin (13th) who are playing for league pride only.

Like us, they have work to do this weekend. I think they’ll need a result.

I hate what we did today. It was glorified match-fixing. The manner of the defeat is impossible to accept. But there is a bigger issue - a future Tottenham Hotspur.

Giving them three points means it is more likely than not that they survive… and challenge us for not only UCL spot next season, but also for the players that we’d want to get to strengthen the side.

When they blow us out of the water for transfers in the summer we’ll look back on today with regret.

Annoyed is an understatement.
