The AI revolution has killed my love for programming.

I’ve been programming since I was 13. For the past 26 years it’s been one of my favorite things to do. I find programming as both an analytical and creative outlet, and I would have such a sense of excitement to start a new project and accomplishment when I completed one.

All of the other aspects that come along with the job have never been very enjoyable for me, they’ve just been a necessary means to get me to the part of the job I really love. But in this new era of having Claude do everything and being discouraged from writing a single line of code by hand it’s totally killed my passion for the industry. It now just feels devoid of all of the elements that made me love my job.

To all the other devs that feel or felt like I do, how are you keeping your passion alive in this new era?
