XR glasses as alternative?

Surely I'm about the 127,000th person to ask if XR glasses might work as a screen alternative for a cyberdeck? I've built a couple of decks before which I use as laptop replacements, but I'm thinking of another build which would actually ditch the screen or only require a very small one for back-up. I guess a crucial piece of my question is whether I can run regular office programs and the like with XR glasses as my decks are what I use as my regular pc. (E.g., build from last year that I use as a laptop: https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberDeck/comments/1jzvwxe/project\_x/)

Cyberdeck sling

I made a cyberdeck thing a while back (https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberDeck/comments/1jzvwxe/project\_x/) but have never found the best way to carry it for my purposes. I use it as a laptop, so it goes to work with me and I need to carry a letter-sized folder, a Supernote Nomad (e-ink notebook), odds and ends, and a crazy slim zojirushi flask that actually carries 16oz. I used to use a Chrome backpack which was awesome, but over time have found it to be too large in general for everyday use.

Anyhow, I've been looking at slings and haven't found any that I love for which I was willing to fork out the money-- most of what I liked were over $100. So I ended up with this Midway USA sling which was about $30 and added webbing and other parts and hardware which I already had on hand from other projects.

(Going for the purple/neon green theme here--more of a Neuromancer generation. I'm not a gamer.)
