"Puente de la Paz" is a new bridge in the district of Miraflores, Lima.

While I find it very useful since it significantly shortens the trip between two districts, I think it has some noticeable design issues when it comes to the bike path. The most obvious one is the use of the wrong type of paint, which turns into a slippery surface as soon as it gets even slightly wet.

Other issues include a concrete bench with a cantilevered design that intrudes into the bike lane, an office entrance that opens directly onto the path, and the decision to place a pedestrian crossing right in the middle of the lane at the start of a steep ramp, forcing cyclists to slow down exactly when they need momentum the most.

I’d be interested to hear your opinions on this new bike path.
