When Kiri says “leave my mother alone, b*tch/witch,” she’s clearly talking to Varang about attacking Neytiri.

but also… the na’vi call Eywa their “Great Mother”

and they call those against Eywa “witches”

to me, this is figurative language. an analogy or foreshadowing of sorts. she’s directly saying “leave my mom Neytiri alone,” but you could also interpret it as her saying “leave Great Mother Eywa alone, witch (heretic).”

like imagine hearing her say this to Varang without seeing context. “leave my mother alone witch” you’d maybe consider it to do with Eywa

i wonder if this was thought about when making the script. movie analysts unite?? or just people who read too deeply into things…
