I am rereading the books. I read them in a haze a long while ago and ripped through them in a couple of weeks (they are just so addicting!) Anyway, I told myself to slow down and catch the details this time.

I didn't understand that Elle was from the group of old people from book 1. I feel stupid now looking back, but damn if she isn't one of my favorite characters in the book. Her attitude is spun so well, of an old person on the doorstep of death given a second chance at life, and she's going at it with gusto! The assassination attempt in the Desperado club when she screams at everyone so overprotective of her savior, Carl, from book 1. Then when it's all over saying "Now that's what I call entertainment" is all about her new lease on life. Just so well developed.

Matt knows who these characters are. He has an incredible ability to give each their own personality so distinct and separate. It's almost like he's got multiple personalities in his head each writing a character. Just amazing books. Can't wait for the new one!
