I (F29 with 18mm herniation) have surgery scheduled for next week 5/08 and I was curious to know if, because my herniation is SO significant, if it will impact the intensity and/or duration of my recovery post op. Those of you with bigger herniations, did you notice any bigger changes/struggles relative to your baseline before surgery? If so, what changed for you, both good and bad?
For additional context: I suffer from recurring headaches that keep me bedridden due to worsening pain, vision impairment, and poor balance upon standing. I also experience pretty severe fatigue, brain fog, and what I call “rain stick brain” where it essentially feels like a head rush with crackles and pops in my head. I don’t have a syrinx but my CINE MRI showed *very* poor CSF flow 🙃
