I’ve beaten the game, got to the epilogue, and gotten nearly all of the achievements. But in all that time, Hephaestus is the one Olympian I’ve never enjoyed using and still actively avoid during runs. I just feel like I’m getting less done with the Blast boons than if I had almost any other god’s version instead. If I manage to get Seismic Sevo then it feels way better, but otherwise the blast delays tend to be too long without serious pom investment and/or epic+ rarity.
And I like the *idea* of the armor-based boons. But the fact that one good hit can tear away a lot of Heavy Metal’s value while the only source of steady, permanent armor-generation is a keepsake (which is a *much* higher opportunity cost than a boon) can make it feel very feast-or-famine and far less consistent than other gods’ abilities.
I love Hephaestus as a character and really want to enjoy using his powers. Do I just have the wrong mindset or play-style? Would love to hear anybody’s thoughts on how/why they have fun with his boons
