Undoing quilting
Gah. Am so frustrating. This quilt has been in the naughty corner for the last couple of weeks as I could see the issue starting but didn’t want to admit it. Worked on it some more today and give up.
I pin baste, no glue. This was fully basted and was lovely and square (I have a big table at work that I can spread out on). Due to size and being on a domestic machine I have been quilting in lines from the middle out but one side at a time. Because I am using a thick batting the backing has started to move and bunch up on me. The quilt top seems to be skewing as well as in one corner I now don’t have enough backing to cover.
I still like the idea of concentric squares. Should I sew the East/west sides first and then do North/South? Rather than going clockwise? Normally when I quilt I do parallel lines on the diagonal.
As this constructed completely of HST could the bias still be affecting this or should that be a moot point at this stage?
