Hi!
I am planning my master's thesis, and I have an idea I really like, but it would involve developing a new scale. I have ambition and good work capacity, and the master's course itself doesn't start until next year, but I don't know all that much about developing a scale. The main issue I guess is that I won't have time to do multiple surveys and adapt, so I guess I would have to do it within a single survey and hope its validity etc works out? I'll also have to find participants myself from what I understand, so maybe that adds further difficulty?
I could alternatively pivot a bit and use existing scales that capture some of the pieces of what I'm after measuring, and then do a framing experiment instead. Perhaps that is wiser?
What are your experiences, and do you have any advice?
