Not too long ago, I was approved for VR&E and had a terrible experience with who was in charge of my claim. My intake was virtual, and I waited for 15 minutes. I sent an email and text message, and she had the audacity to call me 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and ask where I was. She continued by rescheduling my appointment and telling me that if I miss my appointment, she's going to have to close my claim. Fast forward, I do my intake appointment with me, and she was extremely rude.
I'm currently finishing up my third year at university, pursuing my bachelor's in Microbiology, and I was told I can't pursue my degree in Microbiology and a career as a lab technician because of my disability rating for my hip. At the time, I said lab technician because I didn't know I wanted to be involved in environmental work until this quarter. She told me to look into a Business Degree, and I said absolutely not because 1. that is not at all what I'm interested in 2. being a desk junky is terrible for your hips and back. Besides, I get more steps in a day just walking around campus than I would in a lab.
I told one of my classmates who gets his benefits for school with VR&E, and he told me that it doesn't seem right and to reapply because I closed my claim. I reapplied today, and I'm seeking any and all advice that I can because my GI Bill is running out, and I really want to pursue my Master's and apply for a program at the end of the year.
