Should I buy a Switch 2?
So, I already have a Switch 2 in the house but it's not mine... it's my sisters. We currently share it and it's nice cause she's been buying me the games I wanna play when I ask for it (Since I don't have a job but I am going to start a Summer job in a week). Sometimes she uses it when she wants to play something which is fine, it's her console after all, but she doesn't really use it so much to the point that I have to fight her for it. However, I've been having this itch to own my own console for myself despite already having a PC. I don't have a need for a PS or Xbox since all those games can just be played on my PC but I can't play Nintendo games on my PC. (I can if I emulated but I prefer the intended experience if that makes sense.) I always thought consoles were cool, ESPECIALLY when they're handheld. Some of my hesitations about buying one for myself are:
• I'll have to buy the games myself when my sisters Switch is an option and she already has no issue sharing and buying the games I want since she'll also be able to play them too. Even when I end up getting my temporary summer job, she plans on buying all the new Pokémon games as they come out because she's a big Pokémon fan like me. (Does this make me sound stingy or greedy? 😭 My way of thinking is just if it's already on the console I don't need to pay again for myself when I literally have the option to play from my sisters' Switch)
• I only want to play Pokémon games (minus also wanting to play BOTW and TOTK) and I feel like they're not enough to make another Switch worth it.
But on the other hand, I think having my own would be nice because:
• I can decorate it to my liking
• I have no restrictions in the case she ever wants it when I also want it
• She ends up trading in our old consoles when there's a newer version to get it for cheaper whereas I'd kinda like to keep the old console.
My dad wants to buy me a big gift soon and he's offered that if I didn't know what I wanted he'd just give me a bit of cash and I can do whatever with it. I want to try and figure this out before the price increase that's going to happen with the Switch 2. I kinda feel like if I don't buy my own Switch 2 before the price increases I'll regret it later.
