Hello, I've read some similar inquiries like this, but I wanted to know more. I would like to know what to expect during my first year as a BSA student. For context, I don't have a background in accounting so I'm quite worried.

Questions:

  1. What school supplies do I need? ( Also suggest please suggest a model of calculator)

  2. How can I prepare? As someone who doesn't have a background in this.

  3. Does an accountant makes good money?

  4. I'm quite worried about taking bsa because whenever I saw contents about accountancy, there would be people talking how hard is it and how only a few people end up finishing the course. Is this because it's super hard or it's super boring?

  5. I passed a CET in a local university but it doesn't look too promising in accountancy with around 6-10% passing rate in CPALE , would it affect me too much in employment? Does the BIG 4 only consider those from the top school?

  6. I want to upskill myself, is there certificates/training that I could take within my years in college to improve my background?

  7. Is there branches of accountancy? (Auditing,... ) And if there is , what do they do?, who get payed the most?

  8. I want to prepare for CPALE as soon as possible, because I don't want to make the same mistakes that I did in my CETs. Although I did quite well but there's ifs and the I could do better... So give me advice? How did you review for CPALE?

  9. If you have scholarships? What scholarships do you have?

  10. Is it easy to apply abroad?

  11. Do you have regrets on what you could have learn earlier about accountancy and if so what is it?

12.Are you still happy? After 3-5 years in working as an accountant?

Thanks! , if you have more advice that you could share, I would appreciate it. Btw, do you guys think that I should choose BSN ( nursing ) or BSCS ( computer science ) if I want a more secure future? — I'm still hesitating because I don't want (nursing) due to overworked and I want 9-5 job while Im hesitating in CS because I heard it's oversaturated.
