I was talking to my mother last night and she told me something that is well, strange. She'd been out for coffee with one of her friends and on the way back her friend pulled the car over at a group of houses on a country road just outside of town and told her something that has us both scratching our heads.
Now just to preface, I am a believer in UAP's etc but I am highly sceptical of the disclosure movement and the individuals involved and have always been a no proof without evidence type. I don't believe in ghosts or spirits or traditional supernatural stuff but I am open to scientific exploration and believe there are many strange things that we currently have little real explanation for so remain interested in this stuff. I don't believe in cryptids at all, the mandela effect is people misremembering things, the experiencer/star seed stuff is people filling a hole in their life that religion filled in the past or have undiagnosed mental conditions and I am an ex-atheist now agnostic after deciding that atheists have as much belief in the infallibility of science as god botherers have in their deities, I doubt that there is a sky daddy but I'm open to the possibility of higher dimensional beings creating/observing us etc so my opinion is it's close minded and actually anti-science to say no definitely not, we know very little about existence when you really think about it.
My mother is 78, of sound mind, quietly conservative and a firm Christian. I have always respected her beliefs and her mine she's a "it's a parable, not meant to be literal, the bible says love everyone regardless" type and not at all judgemental, she is less of a believer in UAP/alien life than me but not completely closeminded about it. Her friend is the same sort of person, level headed straight down the line type not one for making shit up or flights of fancy, pragmatic sensible types.
The incident
She told my mother that she had been coming back from her daughters house who had been away that day and asked her to let the dogs out and feed them at lunch time and passing that group of houses, she said as she stopped the car to see what the hell was going on. the people in the houses were coming out and staring too. What they saw was in a patch of grass down near a stream behind the houses there were "huge very bright flames and a lot of white smoke", two men said during the discussion after that they definitely saw a solid shape through the smoke ascending into the sky but there was so much smoke and the flames so bright they couldn't make out a distinct shape and a couple of the ladies closer to it said the smoke was more like dust they way it moved and looked and all agreed it looked far too white, not dark like you'd expect.
Now, my mother and her friend had popped in to sort the dogs again as her daughter had to do whatever she was doing a few days in a row and it was on the way back from where they went to get coffee so when she pulled over she had called over to a lady working in her garden and asked her if they were all having a calmer day than the day before and the lady came over to chat about it and told them that they'd contacted the police and fire brigade in case it was something to do with wildfires, we get them here too in recent years, the fire brigade looked all around the site and found no evidence of any burning, no scorched grass, no nothing, like it had never happened....
My mums friend is raging she didn't think to film it with her camera, none of the residents there did either, they're an older crowd out there and the were thinking "Oh shit something is on fire", not "Strangeness! I best film it!" unfortunately.
Anyone got any theories? Or does this ring any bells of something similar happening? I normally would just rationalise it and forget about it, but the source is so unexpected, two ladies nearly 80 who would think the woo is just daft and silly that I thought it was worth posting.
