Why didn’t people smile in old (black and white) family photos?
Doing work inside people’s homes for almost 20 years, I’ve been to a few thousand homes. One thing I’ve noticed is with all family photos pre-1940ish, no one in the photos smiled. I’ve asked this question many times to the homeowners without anyone knowing the reason.
