My Credit Statement is Showing Someone Else’s Information. Bank Won’t Do Anything
A few weeks ago I ran a free credit check on my Bank App. It is showing 3 credit cards — 2 of mine (bank Mastercard & A phone company credit card) but is also showing a credit card for a bank that I don’t use.
I should note This card for the other bank was opened in 2014 and is now appearing on my credit check on the app. My legal name is wrong on the app and is showing multiple addresses that are not mine to the point where I have my information to the bank through this process and they told me I have them the wrong address and name!
I contacted my bank and they told me I have to go to the other bank company to ask them, that company said they can’t do anything because they don’t have any of my information.
I went back to my bank, they said contact the company that does the credit checks through the app, the credit check company told me nothing is coming up on their end and the extra credit card I don’t own isn’t showing up on their end.
I went back to my original bank and gave them a physical copy of the credit check with all the information on it, they said they would contact me about it weeks ago and they still haven’t.
I’ve contacted the police about fraud but they haven’t gotten back to me.. what can I do to get the bank to take accountability about possibly mishandling my information to the point where my legal information and credit score/ finances could be being effected?
