Been at this company a short while and was originally told I’d be working four 10hr shifts. I’m now working that plus half days on Friday. That’s all fine with me, I need to learn a lot.

However, two weeks ago, I got placed to work a Saturday as well out of nowhere on a Wednesday. They needed someone to be on-site. They asked if I could and I said I could do it…because I didn’t think saying I couldn’t would look good.

I don’t want to come off like I’m allergic to work or anything, but I do not want to start being the Saturdays guy just because I’m new. That puts me at 55-60hrs/week which is not great when you’re salary.

Would it be wrong to try and discuss this with my manager? Is this expected? Thought I’d be avoiding this more since I’m on the PM side.

Just need some advice. Really threw my plans off for that weekend and I don’t want an unknown/random weekend work day to be the norm.
