I've had asthma most of my life. Gerd started a couple years ago in my late 30s. We had trouble identifying it at first because it felt similar to asthma issues for me with a tight chest and some degree of difficulty breathing. I don't feel like I get any burning sensations, but maybe that's how it shows up for me. Anyway, asthma medicine doesn't work when it's reflux.

There's definitely a connection with anxiety. I think of how much coughing happens because I'm anxious about the cough. I know how to calm myself down but just need to actually do it more.

I commonly get flares when I have a cold which also goes along with asthma. Currently my toddler has a neverending cold so I'm on my second flare in a month, and I'm tired. My chest is tighter, and I can't get rid of the cough, so I just have to wait it out. Doing all the chamomile tea, being mindful of diet, and I may try some okra water from other posts.

I'm just tired of feeling like crap and I'm wondering if anyone else experiences their gerd in this way.
